Hoyvík

Hoyvík is a district in the capital Tórshavn.  In the last few years is has seen a really rapid growth with a lot of new houses being built. Hoyvík is also home to the church Hoyvíkskirkjan which is easily recognisable in the skyline with its pointed roof. Á Hjalla is a commercial area in the northern part of Hoyvík with a go kart track as well as the main waste and recycling site and a few shops and warehouses. East of Hoyvík lies the 0,8 hectare islet Hoyvíkshólmur.
